Click here to buy Nylon Sheet. Nylon Sheet is an excellent and highly wear resistant material that offers low friction as well as a tough and impact resistant product. Nylon Sheet is also probably the most popular and well known engineering plastics in the marketplace.
Advantages of Nylon Sheet:
Nylon Sheet offers great wear characteristics helping produce componants that will last much longer than items made from lower grade or some of the more traditional materials such as bronze or brass. Nylon Sheet is also much easier to machine and can further reduce overall costs due to its increased machining speeds which help lower production times and improves on productivity. Significantly reduced weight is also another important advantage that Nylon Sheet offers which reduces the overall load on other integrated componants within a product. One of the most important advantage is the initial cost, Nylon Sheet is much more economical to purchase than the outdated and more traditional materials. Further improvements are gained with Nylon Sheet due to its shock and impact resistance, this helps due to interconnecting componants and electronics having to withstand much less transferred shock and vibration.
Popular grade of Nylon Sheet:
Nylon Sheet is predominantly split into the two popular grades. Nylon 66 which is an extruded grade material and Nylon 6 which is manufacturered in either extruded or cast processes.
Differences in grades
All Nylon Sheet is very simular but there are very slight advantages offered by each grade or manufactururing process.
Nylon 66 grade has a very slight advantage at higher temperatures and is slightly harder but is slightly more expensive and size range availability is more limited.
Nylon 6 extruded sheet is slightly more economical and available in very thin sheet options but slightly softer and has a bit more internal stress caused by manufacturing process.
Nylon 6 Cast Sheet has the advantage of having a reduced internal stress and available in very thick options but it is not available in thin sheet and also the thickness tolerance is much greater.
